Game Cancellations
· Coaches or a team designate are responsible for assessing field conditions in advance of a game. If the field is excessively soft or wet please do not proceed with the game.
· Please notify families at least 1 hour in advance if a game has been cancelled to allow parents adequate time to make schedule adjustments.
· Managers MUST notify the assigned Umpire at least 2 hours in advance if the teams have decided to cancel a game. (Note that if the Managers do not cancel a game due to weather, the Umpire at his or her sole discretion may still elect to cancel the game upon arrival due to field conditions).
· Please copy the UIC, Umpire, and VP of Baseball when communicating a game cancellation.
· If a game is cancelled, it is up to the Managers to reschedule the game (preferably during an existing practice time); likewise it is up to the Managers to add the rescheduled game to the Umpire Calendar by contacting the UIC with advance notice.
· Reminder that players must play a minimum of 8 official games in order to be eligible for All-Stars. If you reschedule a game and there is no Umpire to officiate the game, the game will not qualify as being official for All-Stars eligibility.
