Bainbridge Island Little League Challenger Baseball Program

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 5 to 18, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.  Bainbridge Island Little League is proud to include and support our Challenger players.

One of the benefits of having a Challenger Division is that it encourages the use of "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but encourage the players to bat and make plays for themselves.  The buddy is always nearby, however, to help when needed.  The buddies are from our Majors Baseball & Softball team divisions.
As schedules allow, the BILL Challengers will play a Home and Away series with the NK Little League Challenger Team.  This ongoing rivalry has been a fun experience for all the players and parents, not to mention one of the highlights between two District 2 Little Leagues.

During the season, Challenger games are played at Upper Rotary Field on Saturday mornings.  We encourage all BILL participants, volunteers and parents to come out and cheer on these special kids.
